About The Artist
Charles J. Feeley (1931-2012), or “Charlie,” was an artist who lived in Jupiter, Florida. At the age of 60, during the later years in his career as a design associate for a well-known golf course architect, he took up painting, using the talent he developed while sketching golf course landscapes to show shapers (specialized golf course construction heavy-equipment operators) the desired appearance of each golf course feature they were creating. After he retired, he had the time to create about 20 paintings per year.
Charlie painted subjects both familiar and abstract, and primarily from an impressionist standpoint. Because of his career in the golf course design industry, golf holes were a favorite. His other subjects included scenes from nature, such as landscapes, weather, and astronomical phenomena. Current events, as well as whimsical abstractions, were other subjects he favored.
